Patrick Brown's Profile:
I have been in the appraisal business since 2003 and have owned Midwest Appraisal Solutions, LLC since 2008. I entered the appraisal business toward the end of the "refinance boom" and had a front row view of many of the practices going on in the appraisal industry which aided in landing us in the housing/credit crisis of 2010. Because of what I saw, it became easy to see how I could set myself apart in this industry. I have been particularly driven to make sure I offer top rate service to my clients, not only relative to turn times but, perhaps more importantly, relative to quality and integrity. Over the years, I have seen other appraiser's fall by the wayside because they lacked character and integrity. Unfortunately, once times got tough or the allure of another appraisal fee was too strong, they chose the "easy way". What is right and what pays the most are not always the same thing. Often enough, the right thing may not pay as well but, it makes for a better nights sleep. This is why I have chosen Honesty, Integrity, Humility & Respect as the words which I hope best describe Midwest Appraisal Solutions. All that to say, I am not perfect but I do strive for excellence. During my time as a real estate appraiser, I have seen some fairly significant ups and downs but have been able to persevere through them, learn from them and, hopefully, come out on the other side a better appraiser & person.
Fortunately, there is more to life that simply appraising, at least for me. I am married to my wonderful wife, Hilary, and have three beautiful children, Mallory, Simon & Spencer. My family and I attend Leawood Presbyterian Church where I served as the Elder of Buildings and Grounds. I am also involved with the Urban Scholastic Center where I work with 4th and 5th graders pursuing better literacy for the children as well as relationships in which I can mentor the younger generations. I spend time throughout the year running, cycling, hunting and, when time allows, hiking Colorado's 14ers. Perhaps the greatest joy, and challenge, in my life has been pursuing a relationship with God and attempting to live a life which honors Him! There is no doubt in my mind that pursuing God is what has lead me to do business the way I do it.
Respectfully,
Patrick Brown
